Selling billions of years for millions of dollars.
In 2014, my friend Hans Fex asked me to make a video for his Mini Museum Kickstarter project. The campaign took off, raising $1.2 million in 45 days. Mini Museum was catapulted from an idea in Hans' mind to an overnight hit. Since then, we've produced two more million dollar campaigns together. We were only the 7th team ever to create three consecutive million dollar campaigns on Kickstarter. If you've not seen the Mini Museum, visit their site and read all about it. Hans and his team of geniuses have created something truly incredible.
ThinkGeek is infamous for creating fake products that they launch on April fools' every year. It's become a much-anticipated tradition in the online community. This video was part of 2014's trickery. With the world's love for NERF mixed with ThinkGeek's loyal and eager following, this thing blew up, literally. This is ThinkGeek's most popular video of all time, with nearly 11,000,000 views, and the product doesn't even exist.
If you build it, they will... make you clean it up.
With limited notice during the busiest time in ThinkGeek's history, the creative team was given a chance to produce a television ad. After completing the script and storyboard, I worked with the team to book a studio, cast talent, build a set, shoot a commercial, and clean up our mess in less than 48 hours. The commercial went on to be seen 9.8 million times, airing on Comedy Central, ESPN, CNN, and many more. This is the setup and takedown of that whole project.
